"Yosemite Falls and Merced River"

Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in North America and the sixth highest in the world. It actually consists of 3 separate sections. The massive upper falls, pictured here, plunges 1430 feet towards the valley floor. Next is the middle cascade (not visible in this image) which adds another 675 feet. Finally comes the lower 320' section, known simply as Lower Yosemite Falls. The overall height of the waterfall comes in at a staggering 2425 feet, nearly a half mile high.
