Mono Lake

"Crimson Sunrise"

October 2004, Mono Lake, California

Despite appearances to the contrary, I shot this image completely unfiltered using a large format 4x5 camera. A large forest fire had been burning for a couple of days about a hundred miles to the south, and it no doubt contributed to the fiery red colors of this sunrise.
