Crackers for Quackers
May 2013
If it was fuzzy, furry or feathered, it was automatically Lenée's friend. I always thought that I was the biggest animal lover in the world until I met Lenée. This particular image shows Lenée one Sunday afternoon in May just after we got back from church. As I was wheeling Lenée from the garage to the front door, she caught a glimpse of two of our local mooches as they waddled out on the grass in front of our home. Lenée immediately sent me inside to get some crackers for her new friends.
I made repeated trips back to the kitchen as Lenée eventually exhausted our supply of crackers. I was quite hungry myself, having just spent 4 hours at church, but her kids came first. One of her favorite pleasures in life was feeding her critters, be they wild or domesticated. Thankfully, I too eventually got to eat.
