"Conway Summit Aspens"
October 2010, near Bridgeport, California
Snowcapped Mt. Dundenberg provides a spectacular backdrop for a grove of aspens just reaching the peak of their fall colors. I must confess that this shot is what I simply refer to as "roadkill". Roadkill is a term photographers use for an image in which you pull your car over to the side of the highway, set up your tripod and take a picture. Little if any effort is required. I make no apologies, however, because the vast majority of my shots require a great deal of time, money and hard work. I welcome the roadkill opportunities in those rare instances when they present themselves.
