"Entrance to the Big Room"

Shown here is the entrance to the infamous "Big Room". Carlsbad Caverns is an assortment of different rooms, or caverns, which are joined by smaller passageways. The Big Room just happens to be the largest of the caverns. It is indeed enormous. The image here was taken just feet from the elevators that travel between the caverns and the visitors center 800 feet above.
