Morro Rock, also known as the “Gibraltar of the Pacific”, is the area’s most notable landmark. With a height of 576 ft, it creates an impressive backdrop in this image. It also provides a safe haven for a fairly large contingent of peregrine falcons. This scene is repeated every morning as the local fishing fleet goes out to sea in support of the strong local fishing industry.
