I captured this image at 5:56 am, about 10 minutes before sunrise. I love shooting early in the morning when there's no one else around, the light is uniform, and no breeze has yet had a chance to form. Getting up at 4:00 am is not particularly fun though. It's worth noting that it can be quite chilly shooting at Bodie before the sun comes up, even in the middle of summer. Bodie lies at a deceptively high altitude of 8300'.
