I.O.O.F. stands for the "International Order of Odd Fellows".  According to the IOOF brochure, the group's mandate is "to improve and elevate the character of mankind".  That being said, the IOOF certainly had a formidable task in Bodie,  a town known for harsh conditions and wicked men.

This image was shot exactly at sunrise using a 6x12 back on a 4x5 camera.  The building on the left is the Bodie morgue.  The unnamed shed on the right is fighting for its life, trying to remain upright after enduring more than 100 years of heavy winter snowfalls.
