"Silent City Winter Sunrise"
March 2004, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
I shot this image right at sunrise after hiking through thick snow in Bryce Canyon National Park. The hike was not long, perhaps only a quarter of a mile each way. It was difficult though due to the 9000' elevation, knee-deep virgin powder, and the weight of my 45-lb photo backpack. The results were worth it as I had this amazing vista all to myself. I might add that it was cold - very cold.
