"Wheaton and Hollis Hotel"
August 2009, Bodie Ghost Town, California
Located in the center of Bodie's commercial district, this building was erected in 1885 and was originally the US Land Office. It later served as the Power Company office, and eventually became the Wheaton & Hollis Hotel as shown above.
The hotel's old switchboard still has the patch cables in place. A safe in the background has its door swung wide open with what appears to be blast marks of some sort on the inner door. One can only imagine the story behind that.
